Big Weekend ahead in CFB...

Oklahoma/Texas--the red river shootout is here yet again, and the stakes are high as as ever.. The Horns will be punished by the Sooners in a big way! Oklahoma rolls on towards Miami and the BCS Title game...... Sooners 45-21

LSU/Florida--These two teams hatred for one another is an understatement to say the least.. It's always a bloodbath when these two SEC powerhouses coolide-- This time around it will be no different.. Gators won't lose again this season.... They will be SEC Champs! Gators 27-24

Tennessee/Georgia--This will be over early--maybe even before kickoff.. UT is awful, and UGA needs a big win after that beat down they took from Bama.. Dawgs roll big time- 38-17

Penn St/Wisconson--- The Lions better be ready for Camp Randle.. The Badgers sure will be-- Upset special of the week! Badgers pound Lions-- 31-20

South Carolina/Kentucky--- Cocks in yet another must win SEC game.. Last weeks win was huge, but this weeks game is even more important for Spurrier and the Chickens-- Cocks make a statement- 24-14

Tigers in must win ACC battle at Wake...

The Clemson football season is off to a very rocky start to say the least. The Tigers had great expectations coming into the 2008 season, but now are fighting to survive in a weak ACC conference.. This is a must win for Tommy Bowden and his Tigers.. Clemson rolls 31-21 behind Spiller/Davis.

College Football Power 12

1. Oklahoma--Sooners have a big one with Horns in Dallas this weekend
2. LSU------The Tigers aren't getting much respect, but a win in the Swamp will change that
3. Alabama---- Is this team for real?.. The schedule gets tough real soon
4. Missouri---- They haven't played anyone.. I mean no one at all!
5. Texas----- We will see what the Horns have against the Sooners this weekend
6. Penn State---- Not sure about these guys yet-need to play somebody
7. Southern Cal---- Back from the dead. Trojans could roll the rest of the way
8. Texas Tech--- THE most OVERRATED team in college football. Mark my word!
9. Georgia--- Dawgs need to rebound from the Bama pounding
10. BYU------BCS buster of the year.. they play no one!
11. Florida--- Must beat LSU in the Swamp.. Must win game for Tebow and the Gators
12. Ohio State--- No one else to put here.. Sorry!
12. Vanderbilt---- Hey there on a roll... Gotta give'em that!

Cocks beat Rebels in Oxford...

It wasn't pretty but Chris Smelley and the Gamecocks defeated Ole Miss on Saturday in Oxford. The win was huge for the Cocks who are fighting to stay afloat in the SEC east title race. The Cocks travel to Kentucky this Saturday for a must win game against the Wildcats. Hopefully they will be able to pull this one off as well.. Stay tuned....

College Football Power 12

This weeks power 12.. In my eyes!

1. Oklahoma--Got to give it to the Sooners. They are the best at the moment!
2. LSU----This is the best team in the SEC, not Bama
3. Missouri--- This teams for real! At least for now
4. Penn State--- Not sold on the Lions, but they laid the wood to the Illini
5. Alabama--- The win at UGA was a big one---But not sold on them yet
6. Texas--- The Horns haven't played anybody yet--here by default
7. Florida---- This team is still very/very good- They may not lose again!
8. Texas Tech---- Great offense-mediocre D..
9. Georgia--- Dawgs need to find a D! If not they may lose 2 or 3 more games!
10. USC---- The Trojans stumbled, but they will be back!
11. Auburn--- This is a team to watch as the season progresses
12. BYU----Haven't played anyone yet! They don't either-BCS bound!

BAMA crushes UGA!

The black out and 93,000 fans didn't stop the Tide and Nick Saban from absolutely crushing the Bulldogs on there home field Saturday night.. The game was a nothing less than a classic SEC beatdown behind the wood shed.. Bear Bryant would be a proud of his Tide after there performance last night... The Tide now are in the drivers seat to win the SEC west, but games with LSU/UT/Auburn all loom down the road.. Can Saban do it? Let's wait and see...

Vanderbilt beats Spurrier and the Gamecocks again!

Once again the Vanderbilt Commodores have handed the Gamecocks a loss in SEC play, and it's the second year in a row.. S.Carolina came out looking very confused in half number one, but still managed to put up ten points before the half expired.. It wasn't pretty by any means, actually it was a very lackluster performance full of bad play calling and terrible execution. The second half rang a different tune, with Vanderbilt playing smart and taking full advantage off Gamecock turnovers. The Gamecocks were just flat-out beaten down in the second half, and now Spurrier must come up with a different game plan for #2# Georgia next weekend. The loss takes the Cocks to (1-1) overall and (0-1) in the SEC. Vanderbilt goes to (2-0) overall and (1-0) in SEC play....

Gamecocks fall to Vanderbilt 24-17

Gameday in Nashville

The stage is set for an interesting early SEC east battle in Nashville later on this evening. The Gamecocks arrived yesterday knowing that this is a big time game, and nothing less than a victory would be unacceptable. Chris Smelley gets the nod at QB and all in Gamecock country are anxious to see what he's got. The "D" must lay the wood early and make some big plays if the Cocks plan to steal one from the Commodores on the road. Also RB Mike Davis and the "O' line must contribute more than they did last Thursday night against NC St. It should be a good one---

Gamecocks must show up to play!

The Ol'Ball coach is entering season four as the Gamecocks head coach with no SEC title, and no Heisman quarterback candidate-- for what it's worth, he hasn't even been close to competing for any type of title!!!-what's wrong?-- did the NFL and Dan Snyder prove to be too much for his ego?.. The question does linger around the SEC- should he have begged for his job back at Florida?--we all know that's the job he wanted--- too bad that AD Foley didn't wan't him back-- they chose Urban Meyer over him---maybe just maybe it's a thought that lingers through his head---. or does he just wan't to play golf at the famed "Augusta National"- That comes as a "free-be" of being head football coach at South Carolina---.. He's had top notch recruiting classes, so 'now" is the time to win..-- This week in Nashville will be the turning point of Spurrier's coaching career at USC..... If he wins he's a hero, but if he loses to Vandy it's all down hill from here on out--just like last season--- The Gamecocks better be ready for a battle on Thursday night!! Trust me on that one!!..

Picks of the week!

News Observer

"... Chris Smelley came off the bench to throw two touchdowns and break South Carolina's five-game losing streak and hand N.C. State its second straight shutout...."
